Hadassah Migdal Chapter of NST:
Healing Gardens Certificates
We thought you
might like to know
something about
Healing Garden Certificates.
In an age of environmental
awareness, the new Sarah
Wetsman Davidson Tower
built at the Hadassah Hospital
sets a standard for “green
hospitals.”
The 19-story building features
what the designers call
“Healing Gardens. “ Each garden
represents a theme, one of
the four elements, i.e., water,
fire, earth and air. The gardens
feature a path with benches
surrounded by lush greenery.
The vegetation and flooring
reflect the garden’s theme. For
example, the 5th floor garden
rises for three floors its theme
is water, flooring is green blue
and the plants are water-loving
trees, ferns with water trickling
through bamboo.
Besides several Healing
Gardens at the new hospital
tower, there are Healing
Gardens at the Hadassah Mt.
Scopus. That facility is for
the therapeutic progressive
treatment of children suffering
from serious and long term illnesses.
The Healing Garden at
that location includes a maze,
vegetable garden, flower beds,
play areas and secluded spots
for resting. Children can enjoy
the garden with their family
and friends, leaving some of
their troubles behind.
You will find the Healing
Garden Certificates beautifully
designed, making them
Special for the purchaser to
have sent and the recipient
to receive your expression of
caring or pride message for any
occasion.

ZOOM #1:
A FUN AFTERNOON ZOOM: SID
CAESAR & FRIENDS
Wednesday, March 18, 2:00 pm
This program will give us the
opportunity to watch the antics
of Sid Caesar with his partners
Imogene Coca, Nanette
Fabray, Carl Reiner and Howard
Morris. You will see some of
your most favorite skits from
the “Your Show of Shows” and
“The Sid Caesar Show.” Aside
from those sketches there will
be interviews with Caesar’s
contemporaries. Mel Brooks
and Neil Simon were some of
the writers of Caesar’s shows
before they become famous on
their own. Migdal looks forward
to sharing this nostalgic fun program
with you.
ZOOM #2
BOOK DISCUSSION: “UNDER THE
NOODLE STRING”
Wednesday, March 24, 2:00 pm
Last month I asked you to save
Wednesday March 24, 2021 at
2pm for Migdal’s special Author
Book (bring your own lunch) to
the Discussion Zoom. The reason
I call it special is that the author
is someone you all know, Bern
Rosenthal, who for many years
has been the co-leader of Migdal’s
Discussion Book Group. Bern will
read passages from her memoir,
“Under the Noodle String,” share
her experiences while writing her
book and enlighten us with her
reflections after actually seeing
her memoir in print.
There will be ample time for
questions and comments. If you
are able to read the book before
the discussion, you can either
send your questions in advance
by email to Bern Rosenthal
at bernski269@gmail.com or
leave your written question at
Building 3 Concierge. Address
the envelope to Bern Rosenthal
Apt. 21V. Remember to include
your name and telephone
number.

COMING IN APRIL
Book Discussion: “The World
That We Knew”
Wednesday, April 28, 2:00 pm
The next Book to be discussed
will be “The World That We
Knew” by Alice Hoffman. Arlene
Augenbraun and Bern Rosenthal
have previously
discussed other
books by Alice
Hoffman. In her
most recent novel
she has combined
history, ancient
Jewish folklore,
superstition and
reality together,
which should
make a most
unique read.
