Coll’s On a Roll!
This month’s meeting of the Cinema
Club took on the challenge of review-ing
three films: “Parasite,” “The Good
Liar,” and “Jojo Rabbit.” Noting that all three
films dealt with controversial issues and his-toric
events, Dr. Nurit Israeli’s presentation
on “Parasite” contributed greatly towards
helping the audience clarify the goals of the
filmmaker. Discussion leader Vicki Mazel pro-vided
background information that addressed
filmmaking as an international industry and
the coincidences and working relationships
that exist globally.
Discussion also focused on the critics’ reviews
of these films that the audience disagreed with. A
tongue in cheek suggestion was the introduction
of a new rating system that would include “SG”
for “Senior Guidance” advised, since many of
is so well known.
Coll comes from a family ded-icated
to public service. He has a
rich background of participation in
recent major historic events. Starting
out as a policeman, he won awards
for heroism with the New York
Police for his leadership in the 2010
US Airways flight landing on the
Hudson River. In addition to being
Cop of The Year, he also assisted
in the rescue operations in Texas
the disputed opinions appeared to be more
generational. It’s a far cry from Hollywood to
North Shore Towers!
Many of the films screened at the Towers
Cinema have been nominated for and won
numerous awards including Oscars, Golden
Globes and the Screen Actors Guild, to name
a few. We are fortunate in the selection of films
that have been distributed to our theater and
strongly urge all residents to utilize the theater
on a regular basis to insure that we don’t became
another statistic in the rash of movie houses that
are closing throughout the country.
Our Cinema Club movie review programs
are open to all residents and we welcome your
participation. Notices are posted at the movie
theater, the coffee shop restaurant, and in all
the mail rooms.

Wow! What a party!
With a large num-ber
of our beautiful
women in attendance at our
February Fling, how could you
not have fun?
Excellent music provided by
the Vic Vincent Group and a
wonderful four course sit-down
dinner provided by Buffy at the
Towers on the Green, you had
to know it was going to be a
special night. We all came with
high expectations and were not
disappointed. Dining, dancing
and doing everything right does
make you smile, and spending
the evening with your close
friends is the icing on the cake.
Speaking of cake...hmm.
Black Forest cake and a scoop
of ice cream put more than a
big smile on my face. I was
delirious…or was that a sug-ar
overload? Don’t care. I’m
looking forward to our next
super event.

opportunities to become an adviser
on TV shows such as Law and Order,
Blue Bloods, Third Watch, etc.
