Making the right call makes a difference in getting results By Felice Hannah North Shore Towers Board Member and Political Action Committee Chairperson After two years of working with various elected officials in Nassau County and New York City to correct a debris-filled and potentially dangerous area of roadway on Marcus Avenue, between Lakeville Road and Grand Central Parkway Service Road, one call to Assembly Member Edward Braunstein’s office and the problem has been solved. David Fischer and Meagan Chen of the Assembly Member’s office were contacted by me on November 13, 2015, and work to correct the problem started two weeks later. With the cooperation of Nassau County Representative Judy Jacobs, Legislator, District 16, and a ranking member of the Planning, Development & Environment & Government Services Committee, The Nassau County Bureau of Public Works was contacted. They conducted an investigation of the area and found, that of the 50 trees in the area, 39 were in need of immediate attention. Many were dead while others needed extensive trimming. A pile of debris was removed after the safety issue of tree removal and trimming was completed. Who do you call when you want results? You call the right people. I found that David Fischer and Meagan Chen, Representatives of Assembly Member Edward Braustein, were the right people. Assemblymember Ed Braunstein Job well done!
