PROSTATE CANCER SYMPTOMS TO WATCH
Prostate cancer is a formidable foe that
kills tens of thousands of men every year.
The World Cancer Research Fund
International notes that age-adjusted
incidence rates of prostate cancer
have increased dramatically, citing the
increased availability of screening for
prostate-specific antigen, or PSA, for
helping to find prostate cancer in men
who otherwise might never know they
were sick. In fact, the Prostate Cancer
Foundation notes that there usually
aren’t any early warning signs for
prostate cancer, which only highlights
the importance of routine screenings.
Tumors resulting from prostate cancer
may not push against anything to cause
pain, even as they are growing. So men
who do not receive routine prostate
cancer screenings may live for years
with the disease without knowing it.
Such screenings can be a great ally in
the fight against prostate cancer, but
men can also remain on the lookout for
potential signs of the disease. In rare
cases, prostate cancer can produce the
following symptoms, which men should
immediately bring to the attention of
their physician.
ISSUES WITH URINATION
A need to urinate frequently, especially
at night, might be a symptom of prostate
cancer.
Some men may experience difficulty
starting or holding back urination;
those who are experiencing these symptoms
should contact their physician.
Men with prostate cancer may experience
weak, dribbling or interrupted
flow of urination. Such issues may be
symptomatic of other conditions, so
men should not immediately assume
they have cancer.
ERECTION ISSUES
Some men experience difficulty in having
an erection, and that may or may not
be a byproduct of prostate cancer.
Men may also notice a decrease in ejaculate
or experience painful ejaculations.
While these symptoms are not always
a result of prostate cancer, they should
be reported to a physician who can then
take measures to confirm or rule out the
presence of cancer.
OTHER SYMPTOMS
The PCF notes that conditions such as
prostatitis and benign prostatic hypertrophy,
or BPH, are common, benign
diseases that can cause symptoms similar
to prostate cancer. But men should
still report symptoms such as blood in
their urine or semen; pressure or pain
in their rectum; and/or pain or stiffness
in their lower back, hips, pelvis, or
thighs to their physicians the moment
they begin to feel such symptoms.

To our cherished clients, colleagues and friends:
We have opened our Great Neck and Cedarhurst offices.
Please know that we are strictly following all recommended
guidance from public health authorities, including the best
practices for hygiene and stringent infection control. Covid
19 has humbled us all, but nonetheless, we feel confident in
our ability to resume consulting with clients and providing
the outstanding legal services that distinguish our firm. In
addition, we will continue to follow the advice of relevant New
York State agencies to ensure that we are on top of all new
recommendations and guidelines.
Our foremost overreaching priority is to keep all of our
clients, visitors and staff as safe as possible. Therefore, at the
recommendation of the CDC, we will be implementing the
following procedures:
• If and when possible, we will continue to consult with clients
via telephone or video conference in order to minimize the
number of people in the office at any given time.
• All staff, clients and visitors will be subject to temperature
and health screenings prior to entering our office locations.
• All staff, clients and visitors will be required to wear a mask
to enter any of our office locations.
• Plexiglass barriers have been installed in the reception area
and other areas of the office to minimize any airborne transfer
of the virus.
• Clients and visitors may be asked to wait outside or in their
vehicles until we are ready to meet them in order to maintain
social distancing.
• All staff members will be required to submit daily health logs
and will be mandated to stay home and seek medical attention
if they are feeling sick or showing any symptoms of Covid-19.
• Hand sanitizers have been placed throughout our office
locations in high traffic areas including reception and common
areas, as well as our conference rooms. Masks and gloves (gloves
are optional) are also available, and again, no one will be allowed
to enter our offices without a mask.
• All conference rooms will be disinfected after every use
and all public surfaces will be disinfected multiple times during
the day. Our offices have already been professionally cleaned
and sanitized.
Please note that even though our offices are open, we still
can assist all of our clients remotely as Governor Cuomo
has extended remote notarization and witnessing through
September 4, 2020.
We pledge to always make your safety and wellbeing our
priority. We look forward to seeing you in our offices in the
near future! Please be safe and be well.
