FRANK
TURNER’S
RISING TUNES
TO LIFT LI
English singer-songwriter,
folk-punker, and bestselling author
Frank Turner is coming to The
Paramount along with his band
The Sleeping Souls in support of
his seventh album, Be More Kind.
His high-energy anthemic songs
are direct, sincere, and uncommonly
uplifting.
“I’m not entirely sure that I am inherently
all that optimistic,” Turner
tells the Press of his approach to
songwriting, “It’s more just that if
I’m going to spend the time and the
energy singing about something,
then I want to try and make something
positive out of it.”
But the positivity hasn’t always
been a shared approach from those
around him.
“When I started doing this back
in 2005…everyone thought I was
crazy, but I thought I had a plan,”
he recalls. “Looking back now,
everybody thinks, ‘Oh man, you
must have had a plan.’ And I look
back and think, ‘Oh man, I must
have been (expletive) crazy.’
“Funny how things work out.”
