COLD SPRING HARBOR? If you love brunch
and jazz, Grasso's. For a great meal with family,
Mist. For drinks after work, Sandbar. And for a
delicious lunch, Gourmet Whaler!

PARK? I like the Billy Joel Park. There’s picnic
tables set up in this cute little park right on the
water.

Museum. They have great exhibits, not just
about whaling, but about conservation, life at
sea in the 1850s, even an exhibit on the wives
of whaling captains and the difficult choices
they had to make.
WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT COLD
SPRING HARBOR? Location! It’s right on the
water, so you can kayak and paddle board, or
right across the harbor is the best hiking trail
up into the woods. Plus it’s small enough that
you can walk to everything. Makes for a great

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN COLD SPRING HARBOR? My favorite
restaurant is Cold Spring Harbor's newest restaurant, The Sandbar. Great food and
ambiance.
WHAT IS COLD SPRING HARBOR'S BEST PARK? Cold Spring Harbor State Park, or
now known as Billy Joel Park is a waterfront park, located on the Harbor. It's a great spot
to relax during the day or to see amazing sunsets in the evening.
WHAT IS COLD SPRING HARBOR'S BEST-KEPT SECRET? I believe Cold Spring
Harbor's hidden gem is Eagle Dock Beach. A private beach for CSH residents, it offers
fun community gatherings all summer for kids and adults.
WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT COLD SPRING HARBOR? I love that CSH is a
small town. Whether I'm walking the dog or getting a cup of coffee in town, I know I'll
run into someone I know.

SPRING HARBOR? We want all our local restaurants
to thrive, so I’ll defer on this one.

The Wawapek Preserve, which was created as a result
of the North Shore Land Alliance’s commitment to open
space preservation

SECRET? Ava Flora. Lori hits all the highpoints – her
arrangements are casual and elegant, her sense of
color and texture is amazing and, passing by her store
every morning, you just feel happy.

HARBOR? Preservation Long Island’s Exhibition

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE RESTAURANT IN COLD SPRING HARBOR? We are fond of the Sandbar, both
the food and the service are excellent.
WHAT IS COLD SPRING HARBOR'S BEST PARK? The lab campus is of course a very scenic environment for
us, but we also spend a lot of time each summer biking with our kids at Caumsett park. We also enjoy hiking
the Greenbelt trail up behind the library.
WHAT IS COLD SPRING HARBOR'S BEST-KEPT SECRET? One of our favorite locations is the CSHL
Banbury campus, which has a lovely beach area great for swimming and fishing. Also a nice pool for the kids to
swim in.
WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT COLD SPRING HARBOR? CSH is a lovely town, with great schools and
neighbors. If we had to pick a favorite thing about CSH, it would certainly be the people. It is such a warm and
