Queens realty firm opens
up shop in Glen Cove
After nearly a decade of exponential
growth, record-breaking sales and
helping to improve New York City
neighborhoods, Astoria-based
boutique real estate brokerage NY
Space Finders plans to do the same
on Long Island.
Handling residential and commercial
transactions alike with the same
tenacity and professionalism their
clients have come to love, the brokers
at this firm see themselves less as
realtors and more as community
builders.
“We look beyond just the immediate
rental,” says Luca DiCiero, the
company’s founding CEO. “We look
to the future to create a community
within that area…We really want to
bring life to that block, not just that
one location. It has to be something
that will revitalize that whole
community.”
DiCiero, who grew up in Queens
and has often found himself on LI
since his early childhood, founded
the company in 2009. He says clients
used to dealing with traditional
mom-and-pop realtors are pleased
with NY Space Finders’ polished,
trendy office atmosphere and
willingness to deploy every resource
for each listing, regardless of how
luxurious.
“We look at ourselves as the cool
kids on the block,” says DiCiero, who
maintains a small team of closers
rather than a large group of brokers
with only some that close deals.
“We’re bringing a different caliber of
quality to our clients,” says Giuseppe
Gregorio, who heads up the new
Glen Cove office. “If it’s a $1,000
apartment, or a property I’m selling
for $3 million in Northport, I’m
still going to respond with the same
devotion and tenacity. If you’re a
client of mine, you will receive only
service of the highest quality.”
The duo expects the current sellers’
market to remain bullish for at least
the next three years, regardless of
the recent $10,000 state and local
property tax deduction cap that some
pundits have said could suppress
LI home values. Besides seeing
some peak sales figures, they’ve also
noticed a trend of buyers seeking
vertical living on the Island. They
point to a former commercial
building being converted into a
residential high-rise in Greenvale as
the latest example.
“People are looking for more for their
money,” says DiCiero. “We set the
bar for any area we’re in, whether it’s
price or quality of tenants that come
in to an area.”
