Michelin, the French company that
publishes highly regarded restaurant
guides, included 15 Queens res-taurants
in its 2018 Bib Gourmand
guide.
The guide outlines the restaurants
in New York City that offer “exception-ally
good food at moderate prices.” In
all of the more than 120 restaurants
on the guide, diners can purchase two
courses and a glass of wine or dessert
for $40 or less.
The Queens restaurants listed on
the guide offer an eclectic mix of cui-sines
and are located in a variety of
neighborhoods.
Arharn Thai, located right near the
Museum of the Moving Image in As-toria,
offers a variety of traditional
Thai curry dishes and desserts such
as buad chee (banana in warm co-conut
milk) and mango with sweet,
sticky rice.
Casa del Chef Bistro in Woodside
is a family-owned restaurant offer-ing
up dishes like black bass with
pumpkin pesto, spaghetti squash,
toasted sesame oil and grilled barbe-cue
grass-fed beef of the week with
brussels sprouts and carrots puree.
Dumpling Galaxy, located in Flush-ing’s
Arcadia Mall, offers diners nearly
100 varieties of dumplings. Helen
You, who owns a stall, Tianjin Dump-ling
House, at Golden Shopping Mall
decided to open a brick-and-mortar
store in 2014. Filling options range
from lamb with green squash to cod
with roe and wood ear mushroom
and cabbage.
The guide book was released on
Nov. 2 for $18.99.
