What's New Point’s New Star Black Star Bakery is a concept that

originated in Brooklyn, too. Magor and
his wife opened the original spot in
Williamsburg two and a half years ago.
The bakery proved to be popular with
local residents, and, after relocating
his family to Long Island City, Magor
searched for a second location in
Queens.
“I saw a hole that we could fill; there
was a need for a breakfast place that
was part of the Long Island City
neighborhood and part of residents’
daily lives,” he said.
While acknowledging that running
a location in Manhattan could be more
profitable, Magor prides himself in
offering something much more than
a regular coffee shop.
“Customers get good value, and
we’ve been getting good feedback
from Long Island City residents,”
Magor said. “Ultimately, I want to bring
a smile to people’s faces every day.”
