Orestes' LIC BY ORESTES GONZALEZ TIMES SQUARE IN THE RAIN In the five boroughs, there is nothing as visually intense as Times Square at night. Add to that a humid and rainy night and you have a confluence of visuals unlike anything else out there. The wet pavement reflects all of the intense lights. The steam stacks belch out those puffy steam rolls, creating that "Hollywood" scenario that we grew up seeing in the movies. Add to that the thousands of cars, taxis , tourists and locals crowding the streets and sidewalks, and you have an urban feast for the eyes. Editor’s note: Orestes Gonzalez is photographer, writer, architect and resident of LIC since 1989. He has traveled to over 45 countries, documenting the rich heritage of mans intervention on this planet. His column,ORESTES' LIC documents scenes that leave a mark on our great city.
