A pop-up shop in Long Island City is allowing local entreprenuers to showcase their handmade, artisan craft, design goods, home accessories and food products. Located at 27-24 Queens Plaza South, MadeinQNS hosts a rotating selection of products for one year with a monthly curatorial theme. The Queens Economic Development Corperation (QEDC) sells the goods so that the artisans can continue working on their craft or full-time job. “We curate the actual presentation and the manufacturer can go do business development, or their full-time job,” said QEDC Director of Business Services, Sante Antonelli. “We help people start businesses. One of their biggest issues is, ‘Where do I sell my stuff?’ We’re looking to give the local manufacturer who has a creative idea a boost.” Though dozens of makers are featured at the pop-up shop, LIC Magazine is giving you a look at six local vendors who are using their skills to create unique products.
