Business BY VICTOR MARASSO Tired of the same old crusty doughnut, plain croissant or egg sandwich for breakfast? Do you want to break out of your morning breakfast on the run routine, but just don’t know where to start? Well, a great place to break from tradition would be at Gossip Coffee, located at 37-04 30th avenue, where you can indulge in some of the tastiest and most unusual doughnuts on earth, courtesy of Chef Scottish Francis. You may remember this personable young chap from his appearances on season five of “Master Chef,” where he was named the “Doughnut King” by none other than Gordon Ramsey himself. Chef Ramsey fell in love with Francis Legge’s delectable and eclectic doughnut creations. Chef Francis earned Gordon’s respect when he met the challenge of coming up with twelve different doughnut flavors in just a short amount of time. A man of many talents, Francis Legge is a master baker, music video director, creative entrepreneur, businessman as well as Bon Vivant. His charm and charisma are legendary as is his ability to conjure up doughnuts that will defy your imagination as they tantalize your taste buds. If the Medici Family of Florence were into doughnuts back in the day they would have wanted someone like the multi-talented Francis Legge baking them. Just call Legge the Da Vinci of doughnuts. LIC Courier Magazine recently had the distinct pleasure of sitting down with Chef Scottish Francis at his realm, Gossip Coffee. Legge met me with a warm hand of friendship and a smile. Sitting down, he explained that he was happy to take a brief respite, having been baking for over three hours that morning. DELECTABLE DOUGHNUTS Break out of your breakfast routine with these tasty treats
