 Kids Movie: The
 Grinch
 Sunday, December 8, 2:30pm
“The Grinch,” based on Dr. Seuss’ holiday classic,
tells the story of a cynical grump who goes on a
mission to steal Christmas because his neighbors in
Whoville plan to make the Christmas celebration the
biggest and loudest one ever and the solitary Grinch
can’t stand the disruption. Ultimately, though, the
Grinch’s cold heart is changed by a young girl’s generous
holiday spirit. Academy Award® nominee Benedict Cumberbatch
lends his voice to the infamous Grinch. Animated; Rated PG
 Directors: Yarrow Cheney, Scott Mosier
 Writers: Michael LeSieur, Tommy Swerdlow
Cast: Benedict Cumberbatch, Cameron Seely, Rashida Jones
“Parents looking for a new family Christmas tradition could do worse
than this cheerful, upbeat movie…it has wonderful messages about caring
for others, treasuring family, reaching out to those who are alone, letting
go of past hurts, changing for the better, and forgiving others.”–Kirsten

 Downton Abbey
 Friday, December 20, 7:30pm
“Downton Abbey” picks up the story of the
Crawley family in 1927. A letter has arrived stating
that King George V and Queen Mary will be
visiting Downton. The anticipation and excitement
of the impending visit includes the return of
Downton’s now-retired butler, Mr. Carson, and the
disruption that ensues when the household is overtaken
by the Royal Staff in preparation for the King
 and Queen’s arrival. Rated PG
 Director: Michael Engler
 Writer: Julian Fellowes
Cast: Matthew Goode, Elizabeth McGovern, Maggie Smith
“…if you were a fan of the defunct series, you are going to love this
return to 1920s sophistication and upper-class snobbery. The gang that
you all love is here with hijinks and melodramatic subplots aplenty…
everything about the show that you cherished has remained. In fact,
very little has veered from the source material, other than the addition
of Ben Smithard’s sweeping cinematography.” – Aaron B. Peterson, The
 Hollywood Outsider
