The Dining Diva:
Veranda Restaurant & Cafe
BY HELENE OELERICH
This American upscale
restaurant offers contemporary
dishes served with
Mediterranean flair.
Located in the heart of
Bayside, Veranda Restaurant
& Cafe serves lunch and
dinner seven days a week
and weekend brunch. It is
family and children friendly
and the service is extremely
professional, attentive
and welcoming. Our waiter,
Chris, was super and the
manager, Nick, and chef,
Roberto, make this restaurant
excellent!
Veranda offers private
dinner parties and special
events, like birthdays
and showers. The intimate
indoor and outdoor seating is
so much fun! The charming
indoor rooms open up to the
outside, and on nice days the
outside patio is lovely with
tables, flowers and yummy
food in a delightful setting.
There are many popular
dishes including T-bone
steak, herb crusted salmon,
Kobe beef burgers, mac-andcheese,
warm goat cheese
fondue with apricots and
zucchini chips with homemade
tzatziki (a favorite
with all!). Yellowfin tuna
sandwiches are also good!
The menu is quite large and
there are also many different
specials offered.
At our table we ate
Branzini (grilled whole
Mediterranean sea bass)
with braised greens, pan
seared scallops with vegetable
risotto, and wonderful
seafood pasta with spicy red
tomato sauce. Loved it all!
We also shared apple pie
with vanilla ice cream and
raspberry sorbet wrapped in
chocolate. Try it!
Veranda is located at
208-01 Northern Blvd.
Hours are Monday-Friday,
12pm-10pm; Saturday,
11am-11pm; and Sunday,
10am-10pm. There is valet
parking and delivery is
available.
