Once Upon a Time in
Hollywood
Sunday, March 15, 3pm
Los Angeles, 1969: Rick Dalton (Leonardo
DiCaprio) was once the star of a highly popular TV
series, but a few bad choices have set his career back,
leaving him wondering if he should quit showbiz
altogether. His best friend is Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt),
an aging stuntman who was Dalton’s stunt-double
in movies and TV. His career is largely over. While
Booth ekes out an existence, Dalton still lives in relative
luxury, rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous. In fact, his neighbors
are Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate. imdb.com Rated R
Director: Quentin Tarantino
Writer: Quentin Tarantino
Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie
“The bulk of Tarantino’s film is designed to be a dreamy snapshot of the movie
business and life in Hollywood in the late ‘60s…The approach by Tarantino
and master cinematographer Robert Richardson is incredibly finely tuned…
DiCaprio proves to be such a perfect choice for Dalton that one can’t really
imagine anyone else in the part… It’s one of his best performances, although he’s
arguably topped by a fantastic Pitt…He hasn’t been this playful and charismatic
in years…I can’t wait to see this film again. It’s so layered and ambitious, the
product of a confident filmmaker working with collaborators completely in tune
with his vision. Every piece fits.” – Brian Tallerico, rogerebert.com
Bombshell
Sunday, March 22, 3pm
In 2016, Fox News’ former anchor Gretchen
Carlson (Nicole Kidman) sets in motion a maelstrom
of events for refusing to exchange sexual
favors with the head of Fox News, Roger Ailes
(John Lithgow). When she filed a lawsuit against
Ailes, no one could predict what would happen
next. Her decision leads Fox News correspondent
Megyn Kelly (Charlize Theron) to come
forward with her own story and, ultimately, the
galvanization of a movement. Rated R
Director: Jay Roach
Writer: Charles Randolph
Cast: Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie
“Director Jay Roach handles the actors and screenplay adeptly, eliciting
strong performances from several of his high-profile stars while
maintaining a crisp pace…Acting is the reason to see Bombshell and
it starts with Charlize Theron…all vestiges of her actress persona are
submerged into her portrayal of Megyn Kelly. She has the appearance,
the body language, and the voice. More importantly, she becomes
the character rather than providing an imitation… With Bombshell,
thanks in large part to the contributions of his actors, Roach has
crafted a compelling ‘ripped from the headlines’ motion picture that
unfolds like a page-turner.” – James Berardinelli, reelreviews.net

“’The Angry Birds 2’ is full of silly birds acting like eight year old boys – including potty jokes and
goofy pranks. But this approach certainly seems to pay off in terms of audience satisfaction. My own
eight year old thoroughly enjoyed the movie, as did the other kids in the theater.
Parents will note that this film manages to include some positive messages amid the animated high
jinks...it delivers a positive message about overcoming differences and moving on for the benefit of
others. Teamwork, communication, and courage are needed for these former enemies to work together
to save both of their homes…Adults will also appreciate the stellar voice cast, who manage to imbue
the characters with distinct, vivid personalities.” – Brooke Berry, parentpreviews.com
