DECEMBER 4
CORRECTION
An eagle-eyed reader informed
us that a photo in
last month’s Picture of the
Month column was mislabeled.
The caption of the
photo of birds perched on
the pier stated that they
were geese, when in fact
were seagulls. The Cryder
Point Courier does not
pretend to be staffed with
avian experts, and we thank
the reader for bringing this
to our attention. Our apologies
go out to the seagulls as
well, and we hope they were
not offended by the error.
No harm, no fowl. ~ Editor
These geese seagulls have an agenda, I’m sure
of it.

Message from the Board President
Where is the time going? Thanksgiving was early this year,
and so is Hanukkah. Before we know it, it’ll be Christmas
and then poof! It’ll be New Year’s and hello to 2019. But
before that happens, please mark your calendars for
Thursday, December 13, for our annual shareholders’
meeting where we’ll review the 2019 budget.
The next night, December 14, will be the annual Kids’
Holiday Party, which has become a very special event for
the children at Cryder Point (complete with a visit from
Santa Claus!).
Please also mark your calendars for Sunday, January 13, for
our annual New Year’s Brunch in the 01 Community Room.
The Board puts this together each year for the whole community, and it’s a really nice
way for all of us to get together on a chilly winter afternoon. I hope you can all drop by.
I’d like to take a moment to thank Cryder Point Community Affairs, which is not
only responsible for the many community events we enjoy throughout the year, but
also for initiating the meaningful charitable efforts that Cryder Point is proud to be
a part of. These include the annual Thanksgiving food drive, the coat drive and, currently,
donations to Burt & Barbara’s Gifts from the Heart. All of the people who pitch
in to make these things happen are Cryder Point resident volunteers who give their
time generously, and community participation is what makes things all come together.
Finally, as we close 2018, on behalf of the Board, I’d like to thank our entire Cryder
Point staff for all their hard work and dedication throughout the year. Our appreciation
goes to Bill Newell and all of our concierges and maintenance crew who keep
this place running every day. I’d also like to give a shout out to Stacey Pankavich, who
celebrated her six-year anniversary with us recently, and to Claudia Gheorghiu, who
started about six months ago as our new part-time Administrative Assistant. She and
Stacey make a great team in our Management Office. We’re extremely fortunate to
have such great folks working here, and we thank you one and all.
Wishing everyone in our beautiful Cryder Point Community Happy Holidays and
all the best for a healthy New Year,
Till next time, Jill Davis
