4 C R Y D E R P O I N T FEBRUARY I am extremely happy to report that the beach stairs are essentially fi nished. There is a small bit of adjusting to do and as of this writing some railings need to be installed, but the fundamental construction is done. So, after that, what’s left before the contractor can leave? The back end of the 41 parking lot requires asphalt installation. Fortunately, asphalt isn’t as sensitive to winter temperatures as concrete is, so these tail-end details should be wrapped up quickly. Even more so, it’s great news that the all of the drainage worked well during the nor’easter that occurred at the end of January. This was a good test of its reliability and effectiveness. So all in all, we remain on track to begin restoration of the 21/41 parking lot to green space. As a reminder, the lot will be vacated and off-limits to vehicles as of March 31. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the photos from the New Year’s Brunch that was held on January 8. It was a really nice get together with friends and neighbors, and I hope that anyone who couldn’t make it this year will be able to attend next year. By the way, this month’s issue does not include a Photo of the Month…we need more submissions! This has been a very well-received feature in the paper, and I’m hopeful that when the weather breaks people will be inspired to snap some shots. So keep your phone or camera handy, ‘cause you never know when a great photo op will happen! Finally, new this month is the “QOL Corner,” where the Quality of Life Committee will be providing updates on the many activities they’re planning. It’s a terrifi c, active group, so take a look and see what they’re up to these days. Dogs observed without a medallion will be assumed not to be registered and owners will be subject to a $250 fi ne. See Stacey in the offi ce to register. DOG WALKING: House Rules expressly prohibit walking dogs anywhere on the property to relieve themselves; failure to comply will result in a warning and/or $250 fi ne. Please keep your dog on a short leash to prevent them from wandering onto the grass of CPOC property.
