Xavier Strings at Caribbean Life Healthcare Awards 
 Xavier Strings, the fast-rising  
 Caribbean band from Trinidad  
 and Tobago headed by the highenergy  
 sister violinists Janelle  
 Xavier and Janine Xavier-Cross,  
 will entertain the audience at  
 the  Caribbean  Life  Healthcare  
 Awards  at  Paradise  Catering  
 Hall on Tuesday, June 25.  
 Known  for  their  captivating  
 live  performances,  the  
 group explores the versatility  
 of the violin, viola and vocals  
 with modern electronic instruments. 
 Winners of the Trinidad and  
 Tobago National Youth Award  
 for Instrumental music, Xavier  
 Strings have performed for BBC  
 Radio and at Jazz and Music  
 Festivals around the world. The  
 band  has  worked  with  artists  
 such as the late Ras Shorty  
 I,  Destra  Garcia,  Paul  Keens- 
 Douglas, Black Stalin and soca  
 artists such as Patrice Roberts  
 and Farmer Nappy. The  
 musicians have worked with  
 the Desperadoes steel orchestra  
 54    Caribbean Life, June 21-27, 2019 BQ 
 and with arranger Devon  
 Stewart for Renegades among  
 others.  
 They amazed crowds in New  
 York, at the Caribbean Tourism  
 Organization (CTO) Rum  
 and Rhythm, Epicurean Experience, 
   astonished  audiences  
 throughout  the  Caribbean  
 in Barbados Pan Fusion, and  
 Bequia Music Fest; Antigua and  
 Barbuda,  Grenada,  Dominica  
 Jazz  Creole  also  rocked  out  
 Tobago Jazz Experience, Jazz  
 Artistes on the Green and Jazz  
 Under the Stars; launched luxury  
 vehicles and opened Parliament; 
  and welcomed home  
 our Olympic medalists. They  
 have performed for the President  
 of Trinidad and Tobago at  
 the National Awards ceremony  
 and entertained many diplomats  
 commemorating  National  
 Days, including Canada Day  
 and Netherlands Day.
