Andrew Campell
Jamaican-trained lawyer Andrew
Campbell entered the world of
healthcare as a coordinating manager
in the Risk Management Department
at NYC H+H/Kings County.
Through his interactions with the
facility’s various departments and
Legal Affairs, he developed a keen
understanding of the impact of quality
on patient care outcomes.
Seeking to expand his horizons even
further, Campbell joined the human
resources team as a labor relations
specialists and worked with the facility’s
managers, supervisors, and union
partners to interpret and enforce collective
bargaining agreements and
address employee and workplace grievances.
Campbell spent the next several
years honing his labor relations knowledge
and skills while building strong
relationships with various facility and
union stakeholders.
After several years at NYC H+H/
Kings County, Campbell tapped by
NYC H+H/Coney Island to join their
human resources team as the director
of Labor Relations. This afforded him
the opportunity to work more closely
with the facility’s leadership and union
partners to impact employee satisfaction,
engagement, and retention.
Shortly afterwards, he was promoted
HEALTHCARE AWARDS
to his current role as the director of
Human Resources, where he oversees
core HR operations including recruitment,
records management, benefits
administration, pension, employee
programs / events, regulatory compliance,
wages and salary, occupational
health services, training and
development, and volunteer services,
stakeholders to institute and sustain
programs that drive the organization’s
strategic mission.
According to Campbell: “Human
capital is every company’s most valuable
asset — the engine that drives
every company’s machinery.
Jamaican-born Dr. Seanna-Kaye
Denham-Wilks is the patient
experience officer for NYC Health
+ Hospitals / Kings County, where
she says her mandate is “to lead the
strategic transformation of the patient
experience by improving employee
engagement and fostering a culture of
patient-centered care.”
Additionally, she is an experienced
clinical psychologist with a demonstrated
record of transformational
leadership in the hospital and health
care industries, and in social media.
Being a multi-hyphenate, Dr. Denham
Wilks says she uses all her gifts
as “an expectation, not an option.”
She attended Hunter College High
School, New York University and St.
John’s University, and received her
clinical training at Northwell-LIJ and
the University of Medicine and Dentistry
of New Jersey.
Dr. Denham-Wilks is an internationally
recognized host, writer and speaker
on: mental health stigma; wellness
and self-care; wholistic approaches to
beauty; healing from trauma; women’s
health; family health; and youth and
young adult health.
She is skilled in hospital operations
and management, patient experience,
employee engagement, leadership
of ambulatory and inpatient
settings, cognitive behavioral therapy,
functional behavioral planning, clinical
supervision, lean management,
team building, content creation, social
media networking, community mental
health, corporate coaching and
employee training.
An avid reader and musician, Dr.
Denham-Wilks says she is passionate
about public service and is a “dedicated
life-long learner.”
