their strong support for new legislation introduced by Senator Kevin Parker and Assemblywoman
Inez Dickens that would require developers to collect and report data on the diversity
of their construction workforce on projects that receive public funding.

BP DIAZ TOURS 900 GRAND CONCOURSE
On Friday, June 7, Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. visited a senior citizen housing development
with United States Department of Housing and Urban Development Regional manager
Lynne Patton and Assemblywoman Latoya Joyner. The development is located at 900
Grand Concourse and has 298 units. It is managed by the Mid-Bronx Senior Citizens Council,
Inc., and receives funding from HUD.

CITY ISLAND RISING DISCUSSES ISSUES
Approximately 60 City Islanders fi lled Archie’s Tap and Table to capacity for the third meeting
of City Island Rising on Tuesday, June 11. Many community topics were discussed including
the Bx29 victory, the daylighting if problematic corners on Schofi eld Street and Pell
Place, fl ooding issues on Minnieford Avenue and the catering facility being constructed on
Bowen Street.
