 The Building Trades Employers Association, in partnership  
 with Rebuild Renew New York, is proud to announce a new  
 study that further proves our industry will serve as a catalyst   
 in revitalizing New York’s economy. 
 The unionized construction industry is a gateway to the middle class,   
 creating thousands of good paying jobs by building with a diverse workforce: 
  Each $1 million spent on construction creates a total of eight jobs in NYC 
  BTEA has 177 MWBE contractors, more than any contractor association in NYS 
 The NYC building trade union workforce employed by   
 BTEA contractors are 55% minority and women 
 Black union construction workers earn 36.1% higher wages than black   
 non-union construction workers 
 Latino union construction workers earn 52.7% higher wages than Latino  
 non-union construction workers
