Arts and Goya Foods will present
by popular demand the return of Héctor
‘El Torito’ Acosta for Enamorado:
A Special Valentine’s Concert on Saturday,
February 15, at 8 p.m. Known
affectionately as ‘El Torito’ (The Little
Bull), Acosta, one of the Dominican
Republic’s most well-known bachata
and merengue artists, will perform
his hits such as ‘Me Voy,’ ‘Sin Perdón,’
and ‘Tu Veneno.’ El Torito’s hot new
single ‘Antes Del Lunes’ was released
in 2019.

Arts is on the campus of Lehman College/
CUNY at 250 Bedford Park Boulevard

on Saturday, February 15, at 8 p.m are

Craft-A-Way: Drop in and participate
in creating projects related to a
theme or holiday. Ages 2 to 5. Friday

Books and Bites: Every week, come
together to read the selected book
while enjoying some snacks. Will be
reading The Bridge Home. Thursday
February 6, 13 and 27 at 4 p.m.
Crazy Little Thing Called Love:
Learn how to write your very own
love song. Listen to some popular examples,
and then walk you through
the steps of writing your very own lyrics
and putting it to original music.
With accomplished Singer-Songwriter
Joanna Schubert, participants will
brainstorm together what a ‘love’ song
can be about - from the romantic angle
to beloved pets or even a place they
love to visit. Our teacher will bring instruments
so each song can fully come
to life! Presented by Urban Stages.

After School Lounge: Looking for
a quiet place to get some homework
done? Take advantage of library resources
to catch up on homework,
study, and read. Mondays, Tuesdays
and Thursdays from 4 to 5 p.m.
Game Jam: Get in the game!
Whether it’s using the Wii or going
old school and getting out the board
games, this is the perfect way to relax
at the end of the week. Every Friday at
3:30 p.m.
Wacky Wednesdays: Take some
time halfway through the week to explore
technology, research, and the
arts with different activities. Every

Mensa Mondays: Doing puzzles has
been linked to improved memory, better
problem-solving skills, and even
lower stress levels. Let us help you

and number puzzles to train your

Scrapbooking Fun: Come express
yourself by getting crafty at the City
Island Library. Regardless of your experience
level, join in and glue, tape,
cut, stamp, string, embellish, and decorate
your way to a beautiful keepsake
or a thoughtful gift. Thursday, February

Computer Lab Assistance Monday:
C.L.A.M. is here to shell out answers
to your tech questions. Use one of the
desktops or laptops, or bring your own
device. Smartphones, e-readers, and

City Island Scrabble Club: If you’re
looking for some friendly competition,
then join the Scrabble Club. Come in
and fl ex your vocabulary muscles.

Crossword Crunch: There’s no ‘I’ in
team, but there is a lot of fun in solving
puzzles with friends. Join in unwrapping
