Temple Hatikva
will hold its next Shabbat
evening service on
Friday, February 14, at
7:30 p.m. Fittingly, the
theme of the service will
be ‘Shabbat of Love.’
Temple Hatikva is located
at Bronx House,
990 Pelham Parkway
South.
“These days it is diffi
cult to turn on the
news without hearing
of some act of anti-Semitism
or bigotry,” said
Temple Hatikva’s Cantor
Kyle Cherry. “That
is why it is so important
to celebrate love in all
of its forms. While hate
seems to make the headlines
so often, it is love
that holds the power to
keep such demons at
bay. So long as we can
come together in love
and friendship, these
acts of hatred will never
conquer our spirit!”
Temple Hatikva welcomes
all those of the
Jewish faith for our
traditional, yet modern
services in Hebrew
and English, offering a
meaningful experience
to all, even those with
no synagogue background
All Friday evening
services at Temple Hatikva
begin at 7:30 p.m.
Every service is followed
by an Oneg Shabbat,
an opportunity to
unwind from the fast
pace of your work week
and commence the Shabbat
with some challah,
wine and other light
refreshments, while relaxing
with your area
neighbors.
The synagogue’s
monthly Adult Education
sessions are on
winter break, and will
resume on Sunday,
March 8, at 10 a.m. Following
the usual free
bagel breakfast, attendees
will celebrate
the spirit of Purim two
days early, as Cantor
Cherry reads the Megillah.
Temple Hatikva’s
Adult Ed bagel breakfasts
are sponsored by
Shalom Jewish Funeral
Home, 1528 Castle Hill
Avenue.
The next scheduled
Shabbat service will be
held on Friday evening,
March 13.
