NOV. 2ND GAMES
BANTAMS
It was a tough weekend for
the Cestra’s Pizza gang. They
had a make up game on Saturday
with Division 2 leaders Spot
On which was postponed due to
weather conditions the previous
weekend. They started well and
managed to get to the half from
a goal from their leading scorer
#30 Matthew Urquhart with
a 1-1 tie. He broke free after a
great tackle from starting midfi
elder Adrianna Rizzi. Her grit
was necessary all day. Starting
goalie, for this game, Gianna
Didimenico stood tall and made
key decisions throughout the
game. Heart of the defense, Aliana
Didimenico battled with
#6 Madison De La Cruz and
tried to hold it together but they
were missing the Rolas’ brothers,
Alex and Jake have truly
become important factors in
what the Cestra’s try to do defensively.
#9 Max Cardi had one
of his better games and Ava Vitale
and Brahima Diallo gave
all they could. A really bright
light shined for the Cestra’s in
the form of #7, Xavier Aponte.
He also had one of his better
games of the season with key
tackles and passes from his
midfi eld position. They all tried
their hardest but Spot On kept
the pressure coming. Cestra’s
ran out of gas at the end and lost
by 5-1 when it was all said and
done. It would have been nice to
see the teams meet again at full
strength.
Exciting game! Spot On’s
fi rst time facing Cestra’s Pizza
and they were a challenging
team. Although Spot On came
up with the win, it wasn’t without
a fi ght. Defensively, Nikolas
and Aiden Camino did a great
job, along with Nicolette Donovan.
Julianna Mosca scored
one goal and then headed over
to her fi rst time as goalie in the
2nd half, where she had multiple
saves. Aaron Piparo played
extremely well both defensively
and offensively, with one assist.
Nico Markic had one assist and
one goal. Madelyn Perrino
