On Sunday, November 10, 3, at the
Bronx Music Heritage Center, 1303
Louis Nine Boulevard, come to see a
free screening of the great new documentary,
Decade of Fire. Following
the screening they will have a Q&A/
discussion with individuals who have
worked on or have been featured in
fi lms that show the south Bronx neighborhoods
and critique how they have
been represented. The discussion will
be:
Decade of Fire fi lmmaker, VIvian
Gonzalez; co-producer, From Mambo
to Hip Hop, Elena Martinez; photographer
who took photos of the fi lming
and protests of Fort Apache, the
Bronx, and advisor to the Netfi lx series,
The Get Down; Joe Conzo Jr.,
fi lmmaker and photographer, founder,
Latin Horror website, to discuss the
horror movie, Wolfen, that was fi lmed
near the Bronx’ most notorious street,
Charlotte Street; and Edwin Pagan, pioneering
DJ and inventor of “scratching,”
who was in the fi lm, Wild Style,
DJ Grandwizzard Theodore.

The Enrico Fermi Cultural Center
Committee, Frances Fusco, president,
will present the acclaimed fi lm
‘Il Posto,’ in Italian with English subtitles,
on Thursday, December 5, at 6:30
p.m. at the Belmont Library/Enrico
Fermi Cultural Center, 610 E. 186th
Street. The Introduction will be given
by The Honorable John Barone.

When young Domenico ventures
from his small village to Milan in
search of employment, he fi nds himself
on the bottom rung of the bureaucratic
ladder in a huge, faceless company.
The prospects are daunting,
but Domenico fi nds reason for hope in
the fetching Antonietta. A touching
and hilarious tale of one young man’s
stumbling entrance into the perils of
modern adulthood.
The movie starts Loredana Detto as
Antonietta Masetti, and Sandro Panseri
as Domenico Cantoni.

The Hostos Center for the Arts
& Culture presents Havana Jam honoring
the 500th anniversary of the
founding of Havana with bassist/violinist/
composer Yunior Terry leading
his septet Son de Altura featuring
vocalist David Oquendo and special
guests – Cuban song stylist Gema,
Charanga fl utist Eddy Zervigón, of Orquesta
Broadway, and classical pianist
Adonis González, on Friday, November
15, 7:30 p.m., in the Repertory Theater
at Hostos Community College, 450
Grand Concourse at 149th Street.
The concert is the closing event of
“La Habana 500: A New York Salute
to a Timeless City,” a series of events
(November 12 through 15), including
seminars and walking tours presented
by three CUNY Colleges – Hostos Community
College, John Jay College of
Criminal Justice, and The City College
of New York— in collaboration
with the School of Visual Arts.

$20 for seniors and $5 for students and
