A Business Improvement District (BID) is being considered for the Allerton business corridor along Allerton Avenue
and White Plains Road. The goals of a Business Improvement District (BID) reflect the needs of the business
community it represents. The BID along Fifth Avenue in Manhattan and the BID in Wall Street respond to needs
particular to their communities. The BIDs in the Bronx tend to have needs and goals that are unique to our
communities: marketing, promoting, and assisting small business owners and bringing consumers and businesses
into a more productive and profitable relationship. To this end, BIDs engage in all sorts of activities that promote
this important relationship. Pictures tell a story of just what a BID does and who it affects. Below are pictures of
a day in the life of a BID.
