 President of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce 
 Lisa Sorin, President of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce, fi rst women to ever be president of the organization. 
  She served as the fi rst woman Chairperson of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce and remained on the executive  
 board until her appointment. In addition, she is the founder of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce Scholarship  
 program which awards scholarships to female students in high schools in the Bronx during Women’s  
 History Month. 
 Prior to her appointment to the Bronx Chamber, Lisa was the Executive Director of Westchester Square Business  
 Improvement District (BID) for 6 years. As BID Director, she was responsible for the economic & community  
 development, program planning, fundraising, and fi scal management of the district. Lisa worked to bring  
 a better retail mix to Westchester Square and educating the merchants on the importance of marketing and  
 navigating City services. She was able to bring the vacancy rate from 11% to 4% during the six years. She succeeded  
 in establishing art installations, a BID website, helped in eliminating graffi ti, and developed family events  
 which reached thousands of residents and visitors alike. 
 Lisa was also the Founder of LAS Consulting Services, Inc., which provided marketing, public relations and  
 event planning services for non-profi ts and corporate entities. She contributed to making a difference in the borough  
 of the Bronx by investing her time, energy and expertise raising funds and promoting youth programming  
 and education. For the past 20 years, she held various positions on Bronx Community Board 2, Bronx YMCA,  
 Red Cross, Casita Maria Center for the Arts and Education, Bronx Council on the Arts, and Bronx Children’s  
 Museum 
 Lisa holds a master’s degree in Business Leadership and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from  
 Concordia College. She also received a certifi cate from the CORO Neighborhood Leadership Program. 
 Lisa received numerous awards including Bronx Times 25 Most Infl uential Women, community service  
 awards from Red Cross, American Cancer Society, NYC Parks and Recreation, and numerous Citations from  
 the Offi ce of the Bronx Borough President and several other elected offi cials.
