SHOPPING 44 | BOROMAG.COM | DECEMBER 2013 In anticipation of the LIC Holiday Flea Market, we sat down with Daniela Delgiorno from Bill’s Balls to talk about what she and her husband, Bill Morris, will be serving this winter. BORO: What did you enjoy most about the summer/fall ea market? Daniela: Getting to know the LIC community. We met such wonderful people and were able to get to know many of our customers. We love our repeat customers and know many of them by name. BORO: Which meatball was the biggest success? Daniela: Bill’s Original is always our top seller but e Flushing, our pork dumpling meatball, is always a big hit as well. BORO: You are introducing a brand new avor for the holiday ea... can you tell us about it? Daniela: e Jingle Ball! Created just for the holiday market, it is a Turducken Meatball served with sweet potato mash, turkey gravy and a Cointreau-cranberry relish. We are excited to be using duck from Hudson Valley Duck Farm in these meatballs. e avor is just amazing. We wanted to come up with a meatball that would incorporate all of the wonderful avors of the season. We think we did, and we’re very excited to be making them for the ea. ey will be in very limited supply, and only served the rst two weekends. BORO: What other avors can people expect? Daniela: It seems people get upset if we show up without e Upstate! So we will de nitely be serving our bu alo chicken balls at the market as well. Also on the menu will be our mulled wine. Non-alcoholic of course. BORO: What excites you most about the holiday ea? Daniela: Having the opportunity to share our food is always exciting, but being part of this market allows us to work alongside some truly great vendors. We love being a part of it!
