Listen Up, Queens
 Seven podcasts by Queens residents
 BY ALLISON KRIDLE
Passing the time is an art many of us have mastered at this point in the pandemic.
However, if you are sick of Netflix and have read all of the books cluttering your
shelves, then why not give podcasts a chance? Even better, listen to podcasts
hosted by your fellow Queens residents. We have compiled seven podcasts created
by locals who share their love for our borough and even mention our western

 The Queens Boyz
Queens natives Jay and Wally, who
host The Queens Boyz podcast, do not
hold back. Whether they are talking
about TV shows set in Queens or public
figures like Greta Thunberg, you won’t
 question what they actually think.
Even though the energetic show that
hails from “an undisclosed location in
Queens” has been on pause since November
 2019, their earlier episodes on
Spreaker and Apple Podcasts are still
 relevant and entertaining.
An episode around last Halloween discussed
ghostly places in Queens (with a
special mention of the Steinway Mansion)
and notable deaths that have happened
in the borough. In other episodes, they
discuss the TV show “Sunnyside” and consider
 how neighborhoods like Astoria and
Sunnyside have changed over the years.
Of course, this is not a podcast without
tangents. Prepare to listen through personal
stories about Jay and Wally being
pranked and their hatred of sleeping on
 the subway.
