Native New Yorker Angela Calisti opened Beauty Social Salon
in 2014 “after falling in love with our location on a quiet corner
in Astoria,” she said. “Fast forward five years and our
neighborhood locals have become like family.”
That family feel is one of the cornerstones of Calisti’s
business.
“One thing I have always loved about doing hair is the
connections I make with my clients, so it was important to me
to make sure my salon reflected that as well,” she said. "As a
result, Beauty Social does not feel like your typical salon —
once you walk in the door you feel like you are hanging out with
a group of your best friends. We work hard to keep the space
feeling cool, comfortable and inviting for everyone.”
The salon offers a variety of services, including doing
the best color in town.
“We offer our clients a range of services from your basic cuts
and blowouts to dramatic color transformations, dry cutting
and seamless hair extensions,” Calisti said. “I have an
extensive background in bridal so Beauty Social offers
premiere bridal beauty services as well. We also host private
client events for groups celebrating bachelor parties, birthday
parties, or just a girls’ night out.”
Calisti has worked on everything from fashion campaigns to
TV shows in her career, and she specializes in getting
celebrities ready for events like fashion week, red carpets and
movie premieres.
“I think the fact that I am able to have an an incredible
celebrity client list (Olivia Culpo, Olivia Palermo, Jenna
Ortega, Bella Thorne, Sofia Richie, Amanda Steele, Gigi
Gorgeous, to name a few) as well as a successful salon with my
local clients is a dream come true and something I am
extremely proud of,” Calisti said.
