BRADLEY HAWKS editor-in-chief FEATURES Dear western Queens, In the month of St. Patrick’s Day, I couldn’t feel more proud to call this neighborhood my home. While luck may have played a small part in bringing me here, a neighborhood like ours is born from so much more. Celebrating the new and the old, I was truly blessed to spend an afternoon with the Sacramone family behind Sac’s Place pizzeria. Sitting down and sharing galaktoboureko with Julie Pantazis of Lefkos Pyrgos left an impression on my heart that will stay with me. Chef Miyawaki of Shuya Cafe de Ramen generously shared with me his life story, and the personal philosophy behind his exciting new restaurant. I enjoyed a latte with one of the most gifted violinists and singers I know, and listened to his story. Daily, I am reminded what a gift and an honor it is to meet such beautiful spirits for the purpose of sharing their stories with each of you.
