Something New
When decorating the rest of their living
room, they knew one thing for sure: “We
need to have a TV but we don’t want it to be
the center of the room,” Nelson said.
“We didn’t really want it to be like a
shrine, like you walk in and the TV’s the first
thing you see,” Jurado said. “We do use it
a lot so we wanted it to be present, but not
the center of attention.”
They worked on “hiding in plain sight” –
placing their modest TV off-center and low
to the ground, surrounding it with black
and white pictures.
“That’s why we have all those frames
around it with the same color and scheme,
so the TV becomes yet another frame,” Jurado
explained.
It works: the TV easily becomes a part
of the greater decoration of the wall. The
