Sport the likes of laser tag, paintball, archery and
one of their claims to fame, “archery tag,”
which involves shooting foam-tipped arrows
at people on the opposite team similar to
dodgeball, making for a “Hunger Games”-
like experience.
When ax-throwing started coming on the
scene, the sports complex knew they had
to look into it. Their Axes & Arrows spin-off,
offering both ax-throwing and new archery
games, was added to the business this past
November.
“We like to stay innovative as much as possible,”
co-owner Chris Fermoselle said. “Our
customers come to us for an extreme time,
so we want to make sure we can always introduce
something new for them every couple
of months to hold up to that standard.
“Over the past year, we saw within the family
entertainment industry that ax-throwing was
making a comeback in an entirely new way.
We knew we had to have it in our facility!”
Fermoselle was initially introduced to archery
through the tag game at the facility. The one
that is part of the new Axes & Arrows concept
is more like a game of darts, with slightly different
arrows that allow discs to stick to a target
when you shoot at it with the arrow. He was introduced
to ax-throwing the same way.
“Never threw an ax in my life before. I don’t
think most people have,” he said, laughing.
“So for me to be able to start and actually
practice here within my facility is what got
me into the sport.”
