Stefanie Sintakis and Peter Douskalis first met at Avenue Cafe off
30th Avenue in 2009 when they got together with a mutual friend.
“For some reason I had a completely different idea of what
he would look like in my mind, so when I saw him I was surprised,
but in a good way,” Sintakis said. “I thought he was
cute, and I felt like I knew him for a really long time. I was very
comfortable with him, and we actually had a lot to talk about.”
Shortly after their initial meeting, they decided to keep the
caffeine going at Flo Café. They enjoyed the sunny weather
and took a seat outside.
“I technically didn't live in the city yet. I was still looking for apartments,”
Douskalis said. “I had called Stef and asked if she wanted
to go for the coffee and said I was around to look at apartments.
The truth is, I already started closing on the apartment and didn't
really need to be in the city. I just wanted to see her.”
As they say, the rest is history: they tied the knot in 2012.
Sintakis and Douskalis plan on getting dinner in the city and
possibly booking massages for Valentine’s Day.
