their full body and mind workout and recovery
experience.
“I think specifically the daily workout
that we have that Eddie puts together is
a structured workout. It’s everything from
your core to your legs; it’s a full body
workout,” said John Sanchez, co-owner
of the facility. “Personally, when I come
into the gym, I like being efficient, and
Eddie helps with the daily workout.”
NinjaBear’s exterior has a modern
look, a black and white striped awning,
and a prominent display of its logo, a
cute teddy bear dressed as a ninja with
a weight across its arm. Walking into the
multi-floor facility, the place gives off a
friendly and relaxing vibe. As you walk
through the waiting area, there’s a shelf
with books on display like “Zen” by Alan
Watts, a lifter’s guide called “Rebuilding
Milo,” and “Building Green” on the science
of plant intelligence, presenting
some of the center’s philosophies.
“Nobody definitively knows much of
anything but you can curate the right
kind of information,” Vernovsky said.
“You can at least get closer, so books
like that definitely help provide a good
frame of reference for asking questions.”
Some of the space’s more high-tech
amenities include an infrared sauna with
light therapy, a Styku body scan that
helps guests better identify areas they
may want to work on, and a cold plunge,
among other helpful features for a full
wellness and recovery experience.
“I think there exists somewhere a fascinating
intersection of art and science,”
Vernovsky said. “Maybe you can’t attain
it, but it’s something always worth pursuing.
I think that’s where in the pursuit of
it a lot of really awesome stuff happens.”
NinjaBear also offers massages and
yoga classes, and the owners are planning
on adding mobility workout classes
as well as a small group class focusing
on a workout of the day. After guests are
finished with their workouts, they can relax

at their café, which offers all-natural
smoothies and organic coffee.
“We want an all-encompassing kind
of holistic approach to this,” Vernovsky
said. “Everything from how you work out
to how you recover to how you eat, how
you breathe, all of that matters and that
all factors into what we do here.”
