The 74th session of the UN General
Assembly (UNGA 74) will open
on 17, September 2019. The fi rst day
of the high-level General Debate
will be Tuesday, 24 September 2019.
and last through Sept. 30th.
JFK is preparing for infl ux of
world leaders that will attend. They
are coordinating with every conceivable
law enforcement agency
to provide a safe and secure airport
during the assembly. As in the past
all local and federal agencies will
convene on September 5 and work
out logistics for a secure, effi cient
arrival and departure at JFK Airport
for attending the Manhattan
session. These agencies will meet
and discuss the logistics for JFK
movements, staging areas, security
deployments and related activities
Terminals One and Four will be
very busy with international diplomatic
entourages and security will
be tight. Diplomatic aircraft will be
hustled off the fi eld as soon as possible
and many will be fl own to Stewart
International Airport for longer
term layovers.
Recently there has been a lot of
talk about unauthorized drones fl ying
over the area airports. According
to one source, the FAA and FBI
will be monitoring and will call in
local law enforcement if necessary.
There will be a noticeable ,and
not so noticeable, increase of security
personnel around the airport
as hundreds of attendees arrive
by plane and transported by black
cars, vans and blue tinted license
plated cars to and from the airport.
