When an emergency such as
severe weather occurs, the EOC
is convened and all hands are on
deck to coordinate up to the hour
daily communications among all
Port, local and federal agencies
and stakeholders. When blizzard
Kenan hit the NY area, the daily
AOCs went to EOC mode to begin
to manage the impact of the
storm.
Snow removal from throughout
the airport was monitored,
and calls with the FAA were
made to keep airlines abreast of
the changing conditions. In this
case, Everett sent out a flights
cancellation recommendation
Bulletin to the community when
the storm appeared to have blizzard
strength to make sure airlines
prepared passengers for
cancelled flights. Monitoring of
flights, runway conditions and
over safety for al was conveyed
to stakeholders throughout the
storm event.
Both centers are located at
Building 111 that will also serve
as the center of activities for
the JFK redevelopment personnel.

physical attendance is maintained
by representatives from
