Richmond Hill stabbing & hit-and-run
sparked by minor accident
It started with a fender-bender; it ended
in deadly chaos. A Rockaway man who
allegedly stabbed two men, then drove
his car through a crowded sidewalk outside
a Richmond Hill hookah lounge
during a parking dispute on Dec. 3 is
now locked up without bail, prosecutors
announced. Cops picked up Adrian
Harry, 22, of Beach 67th Street on Dec.
3 aft er he went to Jamaica Hospital for
treatment of a cut to his hand, according
to WABC-TV. Injured victims at the hospital
recognized Harry
as the driver of the car
and pointed him out
to police. According
to the criminal complaint,
Harry was
parking his white 2016
Hyundai Sonata when
the vehicle allegedly
tapped a white BMW
parked behind him.
Th e two men inside
of the BMW got out
and confronted Harry,
and seconds later he
allegedly pulled out
a knife and stabbed
one of the men in the
torso, then the other
in the abdomen. Harry
then drove away on a
sidewalk through the
crowd, hitting six people
and killing one.
Community wants Long Island City adult
nightclub closed after prostitution bust
Aft er fi ve women were arrested for
prostitution at a Queens nightclub on
Dec. 8, elected offi cials and community
members held a press conference to
ask that the city shut the establishment
down. Show Palace, located at 42-50
21st St. in Long Island City, has a long
history of breaking the law, according to
state Senator Michael Gianaris. Th e allnude
nightclub had its application for a
liquor licence denied by the State Liquor
Authority three times, most recently in
January 2016. According to the Daily
News, the NYPD Vice Squad arrested
fi ve women between the ages of 20 to 35
on Dec. 1 during a raid that began as an
investigation into liquor law violations.
Owner Gus Drakopoulos also ran Sin
City in the Bronx, a nightclub that was
shut down aft er the Daily News spoke
to former employees who described the
poor working conditions, harassment
experienced by women there and the
consistent violence.
Santa and NYPD bring holiday cheer to kids at Bayside hospital
New York’s fi nest made the season merry and bright for a group of kids in Bayside. Police offi cers from precincts throughout the city brought presents, song, dance, entertainment
and joy to kids at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children on Dec. 14. Th e event began inside the lobby with a sing-along of Christmas favorites, presents and greetings.
Children and their families headed outside and braved the cold to enjoy an exciting NYPD helicopter fl yover. Santa himself, donned in blue, pulled up in an NYPD Emergency
Services Unit truck to greet the crowd. Kids at the event were also introduced to NYPD horses and K-9 dogs and enjoyed visits from characters including Mr. Met, Islanders
mascot Sparky the Dragon and Elsa and Olaf from the movie “Frozen.”
