At about 4 a.m. on Nov. 22, a white Nissan Maxima hit the man, who was drunk and fell on the roadway of the drive-thru of the fast food restaurant on Merrick Boulevard near 244th Street, cops said. The vehicle then fled the scene. The 48-year-old victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he is currently in stable condition. Police were still looking for the Nissan’s driver as of press time. 108th Precinct Long Island City, Sunnyside, Woodside New photo released of suspect in robbery, assault of 81-yearold Sunnyside man Weeks after an elderly man was punched and robbed at a Sunnyside ATM, police have released another photo of one of the men suspected in the brutal crime. William Eichhorn, 81, was approached by two suspects after he withdrew money from an ATM at the Chase Bank at 46-10 Queens Blvd. about 9:23 a.m. on Oct. 26. The suspects, described as two heavy-set black men in their 20s to 30s, then punched Eichhorn in the face and stole $100 in cash and a debit card before fleeing the scene, authorities said. Surveillance footage shows the suspects following Eichhorn, who is legally blind, inside the bank that Sunday morning. Police are offering a reward of up to $2,000 for any information leading to the arrests of the suspects and released two photos of them earlier this month. The surrounding community, Eichhorn’s family and local officials also came together on Nov. 4 to call for the public’s help in identifying and catching the suspects. “I had a wonderful life here before this event and I hope to continue to have one in the future, and I hope we don’t have any more incidents like this,” Eichhorn said that day. 110th Precinct Corona and Elmhurst Suspect wanted for questioning in deadly shooting outside Elmhurst club Police have released the photo of a suspect wanted in connection to a shooting outside an Elmhurst club last month that left one dead and two others injured. The gunfire erupted about 4 a.m. on Oct. 31 near Club Hive NYC, located on Queens Boulevard between Barnwell and Cornish avenues, cops said. After a “disorderly crowd” dispersed into the street, an unknown gunman started firing and hit three people, according to police. The shooting was sparked by a dispute inside the club that spilled onto the street, reports said. Tamar Sermons, 20, of Laurelton, who was hit in the neck and leg, was killed in the shooting. A 21-year-old woman, who was shot in the buttocks and the leg, and a 31-year-old man, who suffered a graze wound to the head, were injured. Authorities are now looking for a man to question in the murder of Sermons. The child was abused so brutally that he was left with a fractured skull, District Attorney Richard Brown said. The mother of the child brought her son to the Arverne home of Bishme Allah around 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 10, so he could watch him while she ran errands for about 30 minutes. As she left the child was awake and crying. When she returned, Allah, 30, who had been left alone with the child, told her that her son was asleep, Brown said. The two then smoked marijuana and ate a sandwich. At 9 p.m., when the woman got into bed with her son, she did not notice anything wrong with him. But when Allah joined her in bed and she moved her child, she then saw that he had marks on his face and severe swelling to his head, according to Brown. She then demanded that Allah take them to the hospital. The child was admitted to Cohen Children’s Medical Center, where an examination showed that the boy had a severe skull fracture, hemorrhages, contusions, and bruising on the head and lower abdomen, prosecutors said. Medical personnel determined that the injuries were inconsistent with an accident and consistent with a forceful impact. Allah was arraigned on Nov. 19 in Queens Criminal Court on charges of assault, attempted assault, and endangering the welfare of a child. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison. Dr. Stanley-Sangwook Kim, 41, of Manhasset, Long Island, who maintains a medical practice at 33-34 Parsons Blvd. in Flushing, and is the director of the surgical residency program at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, was arraigned on Nov. 19 on charges of insurance fraud, grand larceny, petit larceny, possession of stolen property, falsifying business records and scheme to defraud, District Attorney Richard Brown said. If convicted, Kim faces up to seven years in prison. The doctor is accused of submitting claims of more than $63,000 to six health insurance companies for medical treatments he supposedly administered to 13 patients between May 2012 and September 2013. Those claims were false, and Kim received $25,060 from the insurance companies, according to Brown. Twelve of the thirteen patients had been treated by the doctor for other ailments than what had been claimed, prosecutors said. The fraud was revealed when a woman complained to her insurance company that she had been billed for a service that was never performed. Rockaway man charged with assaulting ex-girlfriend’s 13-month-old son An arriving passenger at John F. Kennedy International Airport tried to bring back more than souvenirs in her suitcase. The passenger’s luggage had just come off a flight from Port of Spain, Trinidad, on Nov. 16 when a K-9 Fenja sniffed out something suspicious inside of it, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Jerrita Baker, a United States citizen, claimed the bag and a search was conducted. CBP officers found a white powder inside the suitcase, which tested positive for cocaine. In total, five pounds, with an approximate street value $87,000, was seized, and Baker now faces federal narcotics smuggling charges, CBP said.
