Upon arrival, offi cers observed 57-year-old Sangho Kim unconscious and unresponsive. EMS took him to New York Hospital Queens where he was pronounced dead. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2007 Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on the Horace Harding Expressway,when it struck Kim, who was crossing at 188th Street. The vehicle remained on the scene. The investigation is ongoing. 106TH PRECINCT South central Queens Man found murdered inside basement A man was discovered brutally killed in the basement of a South Ozone Park house early Tuesday morning. Around 5 a.m. on Tuesday, November 19, police, responding to a 9-1-1 call of cries for help inside of 120-46 131 Street, found the victim inside the home’s basement with trauma to the head and multiple stab wounds to his body, said cops. He was pronounced dead at the scene. As of press time, police said there are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing. 109TH PRECINCT Downtown Flushing, East Flushing, Queensboro Hill, College Point, Malba, Whitestone, Beechhurst and Bay Terrace New law for e bikes According to the 109th Precinct, as of November 11, there is a new law regarding the possession and operation of “motorized scooters,” which includes electric bicycles or “e bikes.” Motorized scooters will be defi ned as “any wheeled device that has handlebars that is designed to be stood or sat upon by the operator, is powered by an electric motor or by a gasoline motor that is capable of propelling the device without human power and is not capable of being registered with the NYS DMV.” The law retains an exception for wheelchairs or other mobility aids designed for use by disabled persons. In addition, the new law also prohibits anyone selling, leasing or renting a motorized scooter to another person in NYC, or attempting to do so. Violation of this law is punishable as a traffi c infraction and also by a civil penalty of $1,000 for the fi rst violation and $2,000 for each subsequent violation within a year. Businesses will be held liable for any penalty incurred by an employee illegally operating a scooter on behalf of the business. Wallet thieves sought Police are asking for your help identifying the suspects wanted for stealing a victim’s wallet on Halloween. Cops say the perps, a male and female, removed the victim’s wallet from a piece of luggage the victim was carrying while inside the Food Market located at 41-79 Main Street. Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS. 111TH PRECINCT Bayside, Douglaston, Little Neck, Auburndale, Hollis Hills, and Fresh Meadows New pic of alleged bank robber Police have released a new photo of a man who allegedly robbed a Flushing bank last month. The suspect entered the Flushing Savings Bank on Hollis Court Boulevard near Utopia Parkway on October 25, passed a demand note and fl ed with money, said cops. Police describe the suspect as a white male who was wearing a white hat and gray sweatshirt, and had a black backpack. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS. 114TH PRECINCT Astoria, Long Island City, Woodside and Jackson Heights Cell phone thief wanted Police are looking for the man they say pilfered a woman’s cell phone on the “F” train. On Friday, October 18, at the 21st Street and Queensbridge subway station, the suspect approached the 21-year-old female victim on the southbound “F” train as the train was discharging passengers and snatched her cell phone from her hand. He fl ed on foot. The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident. Police say the suspect is a black man in his 20s, 5’8”, 130 pounds, and last seen wearing a purple sweatshirt and camoufl age pants. LIE CRASH A 31-year-old man got out of his stalled car on the side of the Long Island Expressway on Saturday, November 16 when he was struck by an oncoming car. At the time, the victim was in critical condition, according to police. He was hit on the westbound expressway at exit 29 at 8:15 p.m. The driver, a 65-year-old male, stayed at the scene after the crash, police said. Police shoot, critically wound armed man in Far Rockaway Police offi cers shot and critically injured a man in Far Rockaway over the weekend after offi cials said he aimed a weapon at cops. The incident started when four offi cers responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting an assault on the 3rd fl oor of the Beach 41st Street Houses at 40-20 Beach Channel Drive around 12:40 a.m. on Sunday, November 17. The cops heard screams coming from the stairwell upon entering the building and saw a 25-year-old man, identifi ed as Henry Jones, with a gun, authorities said. The offi cers told Jones to drop the weapon, but he fl ed up the stairs, and then pointed the gun at the cops, according to the police. One cop fi red and struck Jones in his torso, offi cials said, and he was transported to Jamaica Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. Offi cials recovered a 9mm Hi-Point model “C”gun at the scene and are charging Jones with criminal possession of a gun and menacing a police offi cer. Two offi cers were also taken to local hospitals for minor injuries stemming from the confrontation
