Man slugged with bat
during argument
Cops are looking
for a man wanted
for questioning in
connection with a
violent assault on a
Hollis street earlier
this month.
According to
police, at 9:45 p.m.
on Oct. 1, a 31-year-old man was walking
in the vicinity of Henderson Avenue and
189th Street when he got into a argument
with Iquwann Quick, 25.
Law enforcement sources said that the
verbal fi ght turned violent when Quick
allegedly struck the victim in the head
with a bat before fl eeing the scene in an
unknown direction.
Offi cers from the 103rd Precinct
responded to the incident. Th e victim
sustained a fractured skull as a result of
the incident and was taken to Jamaica
Hospital in critical condition. At this time
there does not appear to be a direct connection
between Quick and the victim.
Police are looking for Quick for questioning
in connection to the incident. He
is described as a black man standing 5
feet, 10 inches and weighing 175 pounds.

Detectives are looking for the
knife-wielding crook who stole prescription

Flushing robbery that he held up on the
morning of Sunday, Oct. 14.
Law enforcement sources said the caper
occurred at 10:58 a.m. on Oct. 14 inside
the Horizon Pharmacy located at 41-46
Main St.
According to police, the perpetrator
walked into the drug store, confronted
a 45-year-old female employee and
displayed a knife. He then demanded
Ambien pills and cash from the register.
Moments later, the crook received
$40 in cash and an unknown amount
of prescription medication, authorities
said. According to a post on the 109th
Precinct’s offi cial Facebook page, the
crook exited the pharmacy and fl ed the
scene inside a black 2016 Nissan Sentra.
No injuries were reported by responding
109th Precinct offi cers.
Police sources described the bandit as a
Asian man believed to be 35 years of age,
standing about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and
wearing all-black clothing and a black
baseball cap.

vehicle were posted Monday, Oct.
15, on the 109th Precinct’s Facebook
page.

Long Island City
Hit-and-run driver sought
for injuring teen
Astoria’s 114th Precinct was still searching
for the driver of a white minivan that
struck a 13-year-old boy in the Dutch
Kills section of Long Island City last week
when Th e Courier went to press on the
aft ernoon of Wednesday, Oct. 17.
Th e motorist hit the child as he was
entering the street in front of 38-72 13th
St. on Oct. 10 just aft er 8 a.m. before leaving
the scene of the accident, according to
the NYPD.
EMS responded and transported the
victim to an area hospital where he
received treatment for a fractured ankle,
police said.

Jackson Heights
Commuter sought for wild
fi ght at train station
Cops are looking for a female commuter
who got into a brawl with a woman
on the 7 line in Jackson Heights during a
recent morning rush hour.
Law enforcement sources said the
beef between the two women began at
8:25 a.m. on Oct. 2 as the two rode a
Manhattan-bound 7 train as it pulled into
the 74th Street-Broadway station.
When the doors opened, police said,
one of the women shoved her rival, a
30-year-old female, off the car and onto
the platform. Th e suspect then followed
her out and continued the dispute.
Authorities said the female suspect then
punched the 30-year-old woman in the
face. Th e two continued to brawl on the
platform before passengers stepped in to
separate them.
Th e puncher then fl ed the station in an
unknown direction, offi cers said.
Th e incident was reported to the 115th
Precinct and NYPD Transit Bureau
District 20. Th e 30-year-old woman was
not seriously injured.
On Oct. 10, the NYPD released video
footage of the assailant, who’s described
as a Hispanic woman between 25 and
30 years of age, standing 5 feet, 5 inches
tall with shoulder-length black hair.
She was last seen wearing a white hooded
sweatshirt, black pants and black
sneakers while also carrying a black
backpack.

Bank robber steals thousands
Cops are looking for a note-passing
thief that stole thousands of dollars aft er
trying to rob two banks in Woodside
and Richmond Hill on the same day.
According to police, at 11:06 a.m. on
Oct. 16, an unknown man walked into a
Chase Bank, located at 59-26 Woodside
Ave. Aft er approaching the teller, the
suspect handed him a note demanding
money.
However, one of the employees
pressed the alarm button and the crook
fl ed the scene empty-handed.
Two hours later, authorities said, the
suspect walked into the Capital One
Bank, located at 115-20 Jamaica Ave.,
at 1:06 p.m. and passed a note to a teller
demanding money. Th e teller complied
and handed over $17,000. Th e
crook then fl ed the scene westbound on
Jamaica Avenue.
Cops described the suspect as a white
man between the ages of 40 and 50 years
old and standing 6 feet tall. He was last
seen wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans
and white Nike sneakers.
