The show will benefit the League of United Latin American Citizens - LULAC Queens Council 23047. The league’s objective is to elevate the political, economic and educational status of Hispanic-Americans through community programs. Rosa Antonelli has a history of offering her talent to support organizations around the world. “I have a relationship with LULAC since June of 2013. I offered them to raise funds for their scholarships program through a concert. That’s when the project started. Since, I played a Latin themed concert at Carnegie Hall in 2011 and it was a great success, we decided to do the same repertoire that I have been, exclusively, specializing in for the last four years”. She has also played for other causes such as Action Against Hunger. “It brings me tremendous joy to be able to use my God given talent to make a difference, for the better, even in just one person’s life - a difference that puts them in a path of personal growth. Plus the fact that this is a Latin American event is especially significant for me, since it gives me the opportunity to elevate the concept of Latin American music: that is not only Salsa, Bachata, Mambo or Merengue; these are beautiful, popular and I dance to them. However, Latin America also has fabulous composers which are at the level of the traditional European composers”, said Antonelli in an exclusive interview for El Correo. The “Steinway Artist” marks her second return to the Stern Auditorium. Those who attend will experience, among others, the classical works of Piazzolla, Ponce, Albéniz, and Villalobos. “I urge everyone to attend this concert. You will be making a positive change in many young people’s lives” said Antonelli. The concert will take place on October the 22 at 8PM.
