The suspect entered the business, the Prime Convenience Store on Atlantic Avenue near 75th Street, at about 12 p.m. on Sept. 11, displaying the weapon and demanding money from the store worker, authorities said. After receiving the cash, he fled the store westbound on Atlantic Avenue. Police describe the suspect, who was caught during the robbery on video, as black, about 25 years old, 6 feet tall and 175 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). 103rd Precinct Hollis Park Gardens, Hollis, Lakewood and Jamaica Woman injured after jumping from dollar van fleeing cops in Jamaica A 22-year-old woman is in critical condition after she jumped from a dollar van as its driver tried to flee from police in Jamaica, authorities said. Cops attempted to pull over the Ford Econoline van about 4:40 p.m. on Sept. 14 on Archer Avenue, near 165th Street, according to police. As it sped away, its passenger jumped from the vehicle on Union Hall Street, near 107th Avenue. The escape left the woman injured and she was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition. The van’s driver, Jameson Golding, 22, of Brooklyn, kept going, but soon tried to flee on foot and was caught by police, according to published reports. Golding was arrested on a slew of charges, including resisting arrest, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, unlicensed operator and obstructing governmental administration, police said. 105th Precinct Queens Village, Cambria Heights, Laurelton, Rosedale, Springfield Gardens, Bellerose, Glen Oaks, New Hyde Park and Floral Park Motorcyclist killed after van strikes group of people in Rosedale A motorcyclist was killed and several people were injured when a van struck a group of people as they were loading the man’s bike into a pickup truck in Rosedale, police said. The 24-year-old victim was riding along Rockaway Boulevard near Brookville Boulevard that evening when his motorcycle became disabled. A pickup truck and several people met the motorcyclist to help him out at about 8:20 p.m. on Sept. 12, and, as they were loading the bike into the parked vehicle, a Chevy van hit the rear of the pickup truck and them, cops said. Another vehicle driving behind the van then struck the rear of the van. The motorcyclist, who as of press time had yet to be identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities. Four of the other people standing on the road and the van’s driver were taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition. 109th Precinct Flushing, Queensboro Hill, College Point, Malba, Whitestone, Beechhurst and Bay Terrace Man wanted in Flushing livery cab robbery A man had a livery cab driver take him on a ride through the borough before robbing him during a final stop in Flushing, cops said. The driver picked the suspect up at 85th Avenue and Parsons Boulevard in Jamaica on Sept. 1, and was asked to make several stops in Queens, police said. When they arrived at 131-25 Avery Ave. around 2 p.m., the suspect simulated a gun and demanded money from the driver, according to authorities. The suspect then fled on foot. Authorities describe the suspect as Hispanic, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 200 pounds and with a scar on his forehead. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (8477). 112th Precinct Forest Hills and Rego Park Cops looking for Queens jewelry store thieves Police are looking for a suspect who tried to rob a Glendale jewelry store last month before holding up a Rego Park jewelry store with two other men this month. The first robbery happened on Aug. 16 at about 12:20 p.m. at a jewelry store on Myrtle Avenue near 69th Place, cops said. After displaying a gun, the suspect struck a 64-year-old man with the butt of the weapon before fleeing empty-handed. The victim was not taken to the hospital. Cops believe the same man, along with two other suspects, robbed a jewelry store on Queens Boulevard near 64th Road at about 1:50 p.m. on Sept. 5, according to authorities. One of the suspects displayed a gun and discharged one round into the floor. The suspects then took several pieces of jewelry and fled in a gray BMW X3. None of the robbery victims were injured. Kennedy International Airport, officials said. The 43-year-old victim, Felix Galarra, of Ozone Park, was fixing the flat just after 4 a.m. on Sept. 14 when a minivan hit the man and his vehicle, according to Port Authority of New York and New Jersey officials. A passenger in the victim’s vehicle and three people who were in the minivan were taken to Jamaica Hospital with apparent non-life-threatening injuries, a Port Authority spokesman said. A section of the Van Wyck Expressway leading to the airport was reportedly shut down until just before 11 a.m. because of the accident. A 19-year-old Queens man was arrested for stealing more than $19,200 while he worked as a duty-free shops cashier at John F. Kennedy International Airport, according to Port Authority police. Tyrone Simmons, of Jamaica, in an interview with authorities, allegedly indicated his responsibility in the thefts, saying that he took money from the register on several different occasions. He is accused of stealing the cash from this May until the end of August. Simmons was arrested at the airport by Port Authority police detectives on Sept. 11 and charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, officials said.
