Man takes bus for joyride
in Long Island City
Cops need the public’s help in fi nding
the thief who stole a Super Shuttle van
from a Long Island City street and went
on a joyride last month.
Th e NYPD released on July 26 video
footage of the suspect responsible for the
June 20 theft , which took place just aft er
midnight in the area of Queens Boulevard
and 38th Street.
Law enforcement sources said the perpetrator
got behind the wheel of the Super
Shuttle parked at the location, then drove

to the Queens County Criminal Court
House at 125-01 Hoover Ave. in Kew
Gardens.

Thief steals cash from
FLushing senior center
Cops are looking for a crook who broke
into a senior facility in Flushing last week
and took off with cash.
According to police, at 6:22 p.m. on July
24, the male burglar gained access to the
Flushing Social Adult Day Care center,
located at 132-28 41st Ave., by unknown
means. Once inside, the suspect swiped
$1,500 in cash from an offi ce within the
building.
Th e perpetrator then fl ed the scene on
foot in an unknown direction, cops said. Th e
incident was reported to the 109th Precinct.

com, of the suspect, who is described as a
white man with glasses. He was last seen
wearing a blue shirt, light-colored shorts
and black sneakers.

Ozone Park, Howard Beach
Howard Beach crooks beat
up victim and force him
to withdraw money
Cops are looking for a trio who beat
up a man in Howard Beach and then
forced him to withdraw money from his
account.
According to police, at 12:30 a.m. on
July 23, a 22-year-old man exited his
parked vehicle, located behind 155-11
84th St., when he was approached by
three unknown men. Th e men proceeded
to punch the victim in the face and
demanded his property.
Aft er the victim surrendered his cellphone
and car keys, two of the men
pushed him back into the back seat of his
car and sat with him while the other man,
who was wearing a white sweatshirt,
drove to a Chase Bank, located at 82-39
153rd Ave. Th e driver escorted the victim
and demanded that he withdraw cash.
Th e victim complied, and handed over
$300 in cash aft er withdrawing it. Th e
suspects then fl ed the scene on foot eastbound
on 153rd Avenue.
Th e victim retained possession of his
vehicle, keys and his cellphone. He suffered
pain and bruising to his face but
refused medical attention at the scene.

Armed thief tries to steal
cellphone in Astoria
Police from the 114th Precinct in
Astoria are searching for a gunman in
a robbery attempt just down the street
from Astoria Heights Playground and
the Horace Greeley middle school.
Th e suspect was in a group of people
who approached a 53-year-old man who
was standing in front of 31-25 45th St.
just aft er 7 p.m. on July 8.
Th e NYPD said the suspect pulled a
fi rearm and demanded the man’s cellphone.
Th e victim threw his phone away
from the small mob and a witness called
police. Th e group fl ed the scene towards
31st Street without any of the man’s
property and there were no injuries
reported, police said.
