He is also president of Community Education Council of School District 24 and vice president of the Forest Park Co-Op board of directors. Curent Role Comaianni is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He joined the army at the age of 18 and served four years from 1985 to 1989. Comaianni currently works in architectural metal finishing, which is the process of putting anti-corrosion/ rust coating on metal. Personal Comaianni currently lives with his wife and three boys. He is part of the Glendale Civic Association. He also likes to spend time with the children in the community as a Little League coach and a basketball coach. Comaianni is also part of the Veterans Affairs Committee in Council District 30. Inspirations Comaianni was born and raised in Ridgewood. Having been a part of that community for his entire life, he has an appreciation for his community. That appreciation inspires him to support the community. Comaianni is a strong believer in the idea that if you want your community to be better, you have to make it better. Comaianni also finds inspiration in the children of the community. He tries his best to make the community better so the children can grow up and learn in a great community. Challenges The biggest challenge that Comaianni faces is serving the most overcrowded district in Queens. This creates many conflicts such as fighting against the city to build more schools in the area. In the end, Comaianni was able to overcome this challenge and his group was able to support the Department of Education in building five new schools in the area. Favorite Memory As he works to make the community a better place, Comaianni always remembers why he works so hard to enhance his community. The one thing Comaianni remembers to keep him going is remembering the smiles on the children’s faces when a new school is open.
