Sunny skies greeted parade-goers on May 29 in College Point, Forest Hills and Maspeth, where residents enjoyed marches featuring bands, service personnel, community groups, elected officials, dancers and youth groups. Memorial Day Monday brought with it more of the same parades in Howard Beach, Laurelton, Little Neck/Douglaston and Ridgewood/ Glendale. The Little Neck/Douglaston march, one of the oldest of its kind in the country, included visits from Governor Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio, among a bevy of other elected officials.
