Hosted by the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning (JCAL), the festivities will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center, located at 153-10 Jamaica Ave. There is no admission charge, but guests are encouraged to pay a suggested donation of $7 each. The festival is something of a pre-summer “staycation” featuring all kinds of fun activities for the whole family. One of the main attractions is a mini golf course designed by local artists Justone Bossert, Lo Ehrhart and Juliet Phillips. There are also a variety of art and music performances both inside and outside the performing arts center as well as face painting, story telling and prize giveaways. One such activity is 3D Everything, which will only be featured on June 5, where visitors can explore the world of virtual reality while sitting in a phone booth. Other items on the performance schedule include the following: Bubble Trouble (June 4, 11:30 a.m.) — Jeff Boyer’s one-man bubble show mixes comedy, music and interactive bubble magic. Best of the Fest: Kids Short Films (June 4, 1 p.m.) — Ideal for children ages 3 to 8, JCAL will screen several short movies including the Academy Awardnominated “Me and my Moulton.” Bash the Trash (June 4, 2 p.m.) — This three-person group will perform music using musical instruments made from recycled and reused materials. Wild Kingdom (June 5, 11:30 a.m.) — This show by Dance Entropy includes colorful and imaginative dances. Best of the Fest: Party Mix (June 5, 1 p.m.) — Another set of great short fi lms ideal for children ages 9 and up will be featured.
