at the Auto Show!
Th e New York International Automobile
Show speeds through the city again in
from April 19-28 at the Javitz Center and
promises to highlight some of the most
cutting edge, innovative and top of the
line new vehicles.
Th e show promises nearly 1,000 new
cars and trucks in addition to new technologies
and entertainment programs. Several
vehicles feature “Ride & Drive” programs,
including the new Toyota Rav4 and various
Jeep products. Th ere will also be
performances from DJs, appearances by
Olympians, Paralympians and reality TV
stars and enough cars to keep families
dreaming of speeding down the open road,
or at least beating traffi c out of the city.
Th e appeal of the auto show, along with
the experience, has been getting a look at
some of the newest cars heading to dealerships
soon. New vehicles from Cadillac,
Hyundai, Subaru, Toyota and Nissan will
all debut there. Ford will honor the 55th
anniversary of its famous Mustang, while
Nissan will celebrate a half-century of
their Z and GT-R models.
Other featured models expected to see
their US and world debuts include the
Cadillac CT5, Hyundai Sonata, Hyundai
Venue, Toyota Yaris, Toyota Highlander,
Subaru Outback, Nissan Versa, Mercedes
Benz GLS, Porsche Cayenne Coupe, Ford
Escape and Lincoln Conair.
For those who might need a little extra
to go along with the car experience, the
show will feature DJ sets almost every
day, as well as several celebrity appearances,
including Orange County Choppers’
Paul Teutel, Sr., Olympian Daryl Horner,
1990 Daytona 500 Champion Derrike
Cope, NASCAR driver Landon Cassill,
Chris Stephens from “Garage Rehab” and
Paralympian Steve Serio.
Over one million visitors are expected
to visit the show this year to see what
is truly possible from the auto industry.
It was fi rst held in 1900 and was the
fi rst auto exhibition ever held in North
America. Regular ticket prices for the
show are $17 for adults and $7 for children.
Th e auto show also off ers group
options, as well as discounts for transit
via NY Waterway, special early admission
prices and tour off ers.
