BIKERS GET THEIR MOTORS RUNNING FOR HOWARD BEACH CHARITY BY ROBERT POZARYCKI rpozarycki@qns.com/@robbpoz Forget the Sons of Anarchy – here are the Sons of Charity. Members of the Bridgerunners MC recently lent a helping hand to the Howard Beach-based New York Families for Autistic Children (NYFAC). They donated $1,500 to the organization that provides a wide variety of assistance to families of children with autism spectrum disorder. The Bridgerunners donation came at the club’s March 24 meeting in Brooklyn, where NYFAC members provided background information about its duties and services. “As April is Autism Awareness Month, we are very thankful that the Bridgerunners were kind enough to host this fundraiser,” NYFAC President Andrew Baumann said. “But more than that, they helped us to let people know that we are there to help, and they helped us in our mission of helping parents help their children, one family at a time.” Throughout April, NYFAC is selling puzzle pieces, magnets and other items to raise funds, with 100 percent of all proceeds going directly to the organization.
