Car thief takes ride
as woman sleeps
Cops are looking for a man who stole a
woman’s car while she was asleep in the
backseat in South Ozone Park.
According to police, at 5:30 a.m. on
Jan. 1, a 30-year-old woman was sleeping
in the backseat of her car near Leff erts
Boulevard and 111th Avenue when an
unknown man entered the vehicle and
began to drive.
Th e woman woke up, and the suspect
told her that his boss told him to
drive her home. Th e suspect proceeded to
punch the victim in the face and continued
to drive.
Following the altercation, the suspect
eventually pulled over and let the victim
out of her car. Th e suspect proceeded to
drive another fi ve minutes before abandoning
the car at 96th Street and 103rd
Avenue.
On Feb. 3, the 106th Precinct tweeted
out photos of the suspect. Anyone with

Flushing
Burglar steals $14,000
in loot from apt.
Cops released video footage on Sunday,
Feb. 3, of a man who they say pilfered
$14,000 in valuables from a Flushing
apartment he burglarized last week.
Law enforcement sources said the
break-in occurred at about 1:56 p.m. on
Jan. 31 at a home in the vicinity of 31st
Drive and Union Street.
According to police, the burglar forced
open the front door of the location. Once
inside, he searched the home and grabbed
jewelry and other personal items. He subsequently
fl ed the scene in an unknown
direction.
Cops describe the suspect as a Hispanic
man believed to be 40 years of age. He
was last seen wearing a gray jacket, a gray
hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and
white sneakers.

Corona/Elmhurst
Creep leads guilty
to groping girls
An East Elmhurst man admitted in
court on Monday, Feb. 4, to charges that
he groped two young girls in Corona last
October.
Noe Angel Soriano Cruz, 39, of 102nd
Street entered guilty pleas on Feb. 4 to
counts of second-degree attempted sexual
abuse and second-degree sexual abuse.
He now faces up to two years in prison
when he’s offi cially sentenced on March
1, Queens District Attorney Richard A.
Brown said.
“Th e girls will likely remember this violation
by a stranger for the rest of their
lives,” Brown said on Feb. 4. “Th e defendant’s
predatory behavior for his own
demented sexual gratifi cation is unacceptable
in a civilized society.”
Prosecutors said that Cruz approached
a 10-year-old girl on Oct. 3, 2018, inside
of a bodega on 104th Street near 39th
Avenue. He then grabbed the victim
between her legs before bolting from the
store.
Law enforcement sources said Cruz
struck again on Oct. 9, when he followed
a 13-year-old girl as she walked along
Junction Boulevard. Upon reaching 45th
Avenue, authorities said, Cruz grabbed
the girl’s crotch from behind, then fl ed
the location.

Little Neck
88-year-old woman
fatally hit by car
A senior woman died on Tuesday, Feb.
5, shortly aft er she was struck by a car
while attempting to cross a Little Neck
street, police reported.
According to authorities, at 6:06 a.m.
on Feb. 5, police responded to a 911 call
regarding pedestrians struck at intersection
251st Street and 63rd Avenue. Upon
their arrival, offi cers found 80-year-old
Xui Pu Xi and an 84-year-old man at the
location with bodily injuries.
A preliminary investigation found that
Xi and the male pedestrian were crossing
251st Street when a 42-year-old woman,
who was driving a 2016 Honda down
63rd Avenue, made a left turn onto 251st
Street and struck the victims.
Offi cers from the 111th Precinct and
EMS responded to the scene. Paramedics
rushed the victims to North Shore
University Hospital, where Xi was pronounced
dead. Th e male pedestrian suffered
an injury to his left leg and is listed
in stable condition.
Th e driver remained at the scene following
the incident. No charges have
been fi led at this time, and the investigation
is ongoing.

Long Island City
Spitter attacked hijabwearing
woman
Police released video of a man who spit
on a woman along a Long Island City
street in a case now being investigated as
a hate crime.
Law enforcement sources said the
attack occurred at 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 29
in front of a business on 30th Street near
37th Avenue.
According to authorities, the female
victim — who was wearing a hijab, a traditional
head covering worn by some
Muslim women — was walking along
30th Street when the suspect approached.
Without saying a word, cops said, the suspect
spat on her and walked on by.
Th e incident was reported to the 114th
Precinct. Following a preliminary probe,
the case was presented to the NYPD Hate
Crimes Task Force for further investigation.
Cops described the hateful spitter as a
man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt,
a dark gray jacket, blue jeans and black
sneakers.
